New Jersey LCV Insight: Nearly one third of New Jerseyans rent their homes. Currently, if a service line is lead, or of an unknown substance that may be lead, law requires the water purveyor pass that information to the homeowner – but it says nothing about a renter. Nearly 40% of New Jerseyans rent their homes, and this bill closes that gap to be sure that information is disclosed to them as well.
